ABOUT KARIN MILLER

Miller Merchandising was founded by Karin Miller in 2002. Karin’s background includes 20 years in the product development & design, merchandising and marketing of home fashions, textiles, window treatments, consumer products, architectural products, accessories and apparel.
Prior to starting Miller Merchandising, Karin served as Vice President of Merchandising at Smith+Noble, a direct retailer of custom home furnishings products. In this role, she was responsible for all of the company’s product development, design and sourcing, supply chain development, vendor negotiations, pricing, gross margins and technical information. She also served on the executive committee and was involved in all major company decisions. Smith+Noble experienced rapid growth during her six year (1996-2002) tenure. Smith+Noble is a division of Cornerstone Brands.
From 1994-1996 Karin directed all of the marketing and product development efforts for Cecil Saydah Company, a manufacturer and supplier of domestic and imported kitchen, beach and bath textiles, as well as rugs. Cecil Saydah served a wide range of retailers, including mass merchants, department, club and specialty stores.
In 1988, Karin joined Del Mar Window Coverings (now a division of Levolor Home Fashions) and spent 6 years there working on developing, designing and marketing their custom window treatment lines with increasing responsibility. Her final position with the company was marketing manager, with responsibility for all of the company’s product lines.
Karin started her career as a textile stylist at JP Stevens (in a division that has become the Forstmann Company) in New York in 1984. She spent 5 years in the fashion district and also worked for Philips-van Heusen and Delta Mills Marketing Company, all in design and merchandising positions.
Karin has made significant investments in state of the art textile design and graphics software and a 24 harness computer-driven hand loom to produce fabric and material designs. She has a highly developed aesthetic sense, as well as strong analytical and technical skills.
Since 1990, Karin has been an active member of Color Marketing Group, and has held chairholder status since 1994.
Karin earned her BS in textile design at the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science School of Textiles and Materials (now Philadelphia University) in 1984 and her MBA from Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management in 1998.
Karin has a large group of professional contacts she can rely upon to help successfully execute your larger projects.
